| Subject: What Exactly Is the Traitors Cross? Thu Dec 04, 2008 7:39 am | |
| Many people have asked me the question is the cross evil, now the answer is simple, no, it isnt, it is not evil, but, at the same time, it is also complex, because it IS evil aswell.
Allow me to explain:
Why the cross isnt evil:
1. TTC does not reprisent malevolance entirley, it reprisents puritan idealisms in their greatest form, for this reason, TTC reprisents purity more so than "anything" else, they are however, fanatic puritans, wanting to destroy rend and generally kill anything that threatens that way. 2. TTC reprisents a faith contrast to an actual motive, it is a series of guidelines and codes that bind its members together, they are also surpisingly tolerant of "corrupt" members, though as long as their intentions are to use corruption against the corrupt, otherwise, they see it as a problem. 3. TTC exists soley to destroy the old gods (WoW) or anarchy (Are Rorrim) and thus does not specifically have interests that would harm the world so much as interests that they deem would help it in their own way, for this reason, TTC is concidered "neutral" more so than evil.
However...
Why the cross IS, evil:
1. TTC also reprisents purity to a fanatic level of violence and tyrany, it reprisents the desolation of innocence as a price to pay for the purity of the world, they beleive they are doing the "right" thing by "tough love" methods, forcing people to fight on their own two feet instead of depending on their allies for support. 2. TTC does have a very keep to ones self overall faith, the basis requires selfishness more so than anything else, absoleute freedom to the point where morals can be regarded as social codes and not personal codes, at the same time, this faith is also diciplined to restrain too much freedom as irony would have it, thus blending perfect controlled freedom in a balance of free choice yet knowing the consiquences of their actions. 3. TTC at the same time desires a world that lived in the past, a world of perfect stability, this usually means most of TTC's members have very egotistic views on people outside their own order, seeing them as "lessers" and weaker beings that are incapable of fighting their own battles, however, TTC has been known to show "respect" to "powerful rivals" from time to time, though this respect is never given only ever earned by their foes willpower and prowess, for the long run though, TTC will still try to take over the world if given the right opertunity to, they want to make sure no one can win, and to do that, WAR must continue to exist in their eyes, endless flowing conflict is the only way to assure that the right path continues to exist, no matter how many live and die through war.
Perhaps some people (no I dont mean any offence here) might find this hard to understand so ill simplify it as best as I can
TTC wants to rule the world, but they also want it to be free to do what it wants within their rulership, keeping everyone in check, paranoid to the core that if anyone gets a chance to change the world, they will, similiar to how say Malygos parnoia caused him to start a massive crusade against all mortal mages, TTC in World Of Warcraft has a similar view against mortals in general, deeming many of them to be weak willed and incapable of understanding the full depth of their own temptation. Overall, TTC is a diciplined army, but it also wants to make everything else diciplined at the same time, so in short, its a tyranical enforcement regieme and demands that no matter if you are part of the guild or not you "must" obay the way of the world, the "normal" way, the "right" way according to TTC, that, is their basic motive and idealism. | |

| I think a good way of explaining it is.. People never referr to themselves as 'Evil', because theire cause is righteous. "Evil" people believe themselves to be the good guys :3 Unless ofcource you are a psycheward comics freak who wants to be evulh, just to be cool^^ | |
